About the Agate

White agate keeps the banding of the stone but drops the color, so the pattern shows as shifts between chalky white, cream and pale gray. On a large oval the rings read as faint contour lines.

Where a band is thin the white goes translucent and slightly warm; where it is thick it stays flat and opaque. The result is a light surface that still has grain to it.

How It’s Made

One oval slab of white agate is polished flat on top while the edge is left as the stone broke, so the outline is uneven by design.

The rim is electroformed, meaning metal is grown onto the stone until the band has real thickness and is bonded to it. The legs are electroformed metal in the matching finish. Silver keeps a white top cold and clean, while gold and rose gold warm it.

Slight variation in natural stone will occur, and a photograph of the finished table is sent for approval before it ships. Other sizes and shapes can be made to order on request.

Assembly

The top and the legs travel as separate parts. The legs are removable and screw into the underside, so the table is easily assembled upon delivery and comes apart again.
