About the Agate

Green agate carries its color in bands of deep bottle green, moss and paler jade, sometimes with a white or clear core where the last of the silica filled in. No two slices carry the same pattern.

Cut and polished, the surface is glassy and the bands read as clean edges rather than blurred washes. Thin bands let light through; thick ones stay opaque and dark.

How It’s Made

Green agate is cut long and narrow into a handle to grip across, not a knob to pinch, then drilled for two screws. The edge of each slice is electroformed in metallic gold, real metal grown onto the stone and permanently bonded, never a leaf or coating that rubs off under a hand. Gold, silver and rose gold finishes can be ordered, and the fittings are brass.

Each piece is unique and there will be slight variations in shape and color, so the four in a set are close but not identical in length or tone.

Fit and Installation

Suits cupboards, cabinets and drawers. The screws measure 5.08 cm (2") and sit 4" (10cm) apart, passing through the stone. Tighten them with care and by hand, taking both down together.
