Artisans hand-tuft \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/wool-rugs\"\u003e100% New Zealand wool\u003c\/a\u003e into a cotton canvas backing using a hand-held tufting gun, then carve every frame by hand.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe growth of the squares is the whole trick of this design. None of them is truly square: each is drawn in perspective, slightly tapered, tilted toward the centre, and sized according to which ring it sits in. Get that progression wrong and the dome flattens into a grid of boxes.
