About the Agate

Pink agate runs from a pale shell tone to a deeper rose, and the shift happens band by band rather than as a wash. Between the pink layers sit narrow white or clear lines, the record of a pause in the stone's growth.

Agate is microcrystalline quartz, dense and hard, and it takes a polish that reads wet. Where the slab is thin the pink glows through; in shadow it reads closer to a soft gray rose.

How It’s Made

The top is a single piece of pink agate. The edge is not cut to a shape, it is the edge the stone came with, so the table's outline is decided by the slab. Electroformed metal follows that line: metal grown onto the stone in a bath, built up to a real thickness and bonded to the agate, so there is nothing to flake or wear through. The legs are electroformed to match. Rose gold sits closest to the stone, gold is warmer still, silver draws a cool boundary around it.

Slight variation in natural stone will occur, so the strength of the pink and the pattern of banding are particular to each top.

Assembly

The legs are removable and the table is easily assembled on delivery. The slab ships in one piece with its legs packed separately; the legs fix underneath and unfix again for storage or a move.
