The Plaque

A shield with a banner across the head for the class year and the school initial standing large at the center. The graduate’s name, the degree and the school run beneath it on their own lines, above a small columned hall at the foot.

Craftsmanship

Electroformed metal over a sculpted form, finished in antique brass. The banner, the initial and the lettering stand off a dark textured ground at more than one height, so the piece reads as modeled rather than stamped. The metal is bonded to the surface rather than painted or plated, so there is nothing on it to chip, flake or peel.

Sealed under a UV-protective finish, so it holds its color on an interior wall, a covered porch or in a sheltered corner of the garden.

Personalization

Five lines are yours: the class year, the initial, the name, the degree and the school. Only the name is required. Write the degree the way the school writes it. To have a crest or logo in place of the initial, upload it with your order at no extra charge; send only artwork that is yours to use. A design preview comes back by email, and once you approve it the piece leaves the workshop in five to seven business days.

A detailed crest needs 8 x 8 or larger to hold its detail. A plain initial reads cleanly at every size.

Mounting

Three ways, chosen at checkout.

• Keyhole slots: two screws in the wall, and it lifts off whenever you want to move it.
• Peel-and-stick tape: sealed strips already on the back. Needs a smooth, clean, dry surface.
• Floating stud mount: threaded studs stand it clear of the wall, so a shadow falls underneath.
