Large Brown Agate Cheese Platter/Tray

A serving board at 9"x14", its face built from rounded agate nodules fitted together and then cut to a clean rectangle, with a fine metal edge.

The nodules are rounded rather than angular, in cream, tan, amber and a cool gray-blue, and each one carries its own faint rings. The joins between them are visible.

Every piece uses natural stone, so slight variation in color, marking and placement will occur.

Using It

Put out cheese, cured meat, fruit or chocolate on it, or use it as a tray for bottles and glasses on a sideboard. Cut elsewhere and bring the pieces over, since a knife edge will mark the polish. Wipe with a damp cloth and dry it straight after, and keep it out of the dishwasher. The metal edge will not wear through with handling.
